If you have a Google device on Android 10, and your notifications are not working, try these troubleshooting steps:
Step 1: Ensure notifications are enabled for Banner Medications
First, confirm that notifications are enabled for Banner Medications on your device.
- Open the Settings app on your phone
- Click "Apps"
- Click "Banner Medications"
- Click "Notifications"
- Ensure that "Show notifications" is toggled on
Step 2: Exclude Banner Medications from battery optimization
Android includes a battery optimization feature that restricts the functionality of apps when they're in the background, which can prevent your Banner Medications notifications from being sent. We recommend excluding Banner Medications from the battery optimization restrictions to ensure that your notifications are received.
- Open the Settings app on your phone
- Click "Apps"
- Click the three dots icon at the top right of the page
- Click "Special access"
- Click "Optimize battery usage"
- Click "Apps not optimized" and switch it to "All"
- Scroll to Banner Medications and switch the toggle to OFF
Step 3: Ensure that Do Not Disturb mode is turned off
If you use Do Not Disturb mode, you can update your Settings to ensure that your medication reminders are still received while your phone is on Do Not Disturb mode.
- Open the Settings app on your phone
- Click "Notifications"
- Ensure "Do Not Disturb" is turned off
